"You asked how I decided to use the name 4th Corner. It has worked out well in several ways but it was just luck. When I started, almost 32 years ago, I heard local people refer to the Bellingham area as the 4th corner. The meaning comes from looking at a map of the US and the State of Washington. Bellingham is in the upper left hand corner of each of them. Historically this area was the last "corner" of the US to be settled by Europeans. I picked up on it that was all there was to it. At the time I never gave any thought about where it would appear on lists."
